Congratulations to Lesson pupils
Well done to some of our lesson customers this week in recent competitions. Daphne Aldridge won her division in the Kelly Vase and brought her handicap down to 28. Daphne is on my Ultimate lesson package and has now reduced her handicap by 5 shots this year.
In the same competition, other pupils Jennie Schamp and Liz Kilshaw also got amongst the prizes. Congratulations to them all and I would like to thank them for their hard work to make these improvements.
Other competition results
The competitive season is now in full swing and I would like to congratulate other winners this week such as Steve Shaw who won the Victory Cup with a super nett 62 on Saturday. We also staged the Senior's Championship last Thursday and Clive Evans won the nett prize and Colin Campbell the scratch, well done to them all.
Do you know how far you hit each club?
Over recent weeks I have been conducting quite a few gapping sessions for members. This is where I or one of the pro Shop team will spend 45 minutes measuring your distances on our ES14 Launch Monitor and record them for you making sure you have the correct set composite. These sessions are available at a Summer special price of only £20. Contact one of the Pro Shop team to arrange an appointment.
Get your game assessed
I have been very busy conducting game assessments over the last couple of weeks helping members with the best Lesson plans for their games. This is where I sit down over a cup of coffee with you and run through a series of questions and get you to measure your own game. Once I have done this I will also conduct a swing check. After going through this process I will then propose a lesson plan that will suit your game as well as assessing whether your equipment is giving you the best opportunity to optimise your game. Looking at these factors as well as your practice habits and mental game is key in getting the most out of your golf both in terms of performance and of course enjoyment. Throughout May and June Michael and I are offering these assessments FREE so if you would like to make 2015 your best ever golfing year please contact one of the Pro Shop team to make an appointment.
Driving Challenge
Why not take our 10 yard challenge this summer? This is where we put you on our ES14 Launch Monitor and we believe we can get you a minimum of 10 extra yards on your Driver as I did with Louise. If you would like to take up the challenge please contact one of the Pro Shop team.
New in store
Our latest range of colours in the FootJoy clothing range have now arrived and looks fantastic. Pop in to the shop to take a look and update your summer wardrobe.
We also have just taken delivery of some special edition Titleist Pro V1 balls which celebrate being NO.1 ball at the US open for the last 67 years.
If you would like to reserve some please do not hesitate to contact one of the team and we will put them aside.
US Open
What an amazing finish to the US Open it was at the weekend with Jordan Spieth once again being the last man standing. The drama was amazing with Dustin Johnson three putting the last to hand him victory although you have to have sympathy for him because of the quality of the greens.
He, Branden Grace, Louis Ousthuizen, Adam Scott and of course Rory Mcilroy all had opportunities and will rue missing them. The course though was the major talking point, with many of the players outspoken in their criticism of both the layout and conditioning.
From watching on the television, some of the slopes looked far too severe and the greens looked shocking, so it must have been a complete test of patience and mindset. At the moment there is no one with a better mindset than Spieth and the ominously I think he only had his B Game last week! He now goes to St Andrews next month with the Grand Slam still a possibilty.
Price Match Policy, Non Stocked Products and Annual Product Survey
As I have stated recently please remember that we can source product we do not stock and will always endeavour to price match where we can. Your business is very important to us and we appreciate every opportunity to secure it.
I would also like to make you aware that as part of Foremost Golf, the UK's largest buying group, we can source products through our central warehousing even if we don't stock the product on the shop floor.
EBAY Shop
We now have an EBAY shop, if you have any old clubs post 2000 this is the time to sell them. All you need to do is drop them into the shop, we will assess them, put them straight onto our site at a sensible selling price and if they sell the money goes on your golf shop account. You will be surprised just how quick we can turn your old clubs into ££££'s . . Only this week I have managed to liquidate some clubs for a couple of our members so that they can look at new equipment
