Michael and I had another busy day on Saturday with two full sessions with the Juniors. This was followed by taking the older group on to the course for 9 holes where they all did really well and had a great time. I have two more masterclasses over the next couple of weeks as we try to progress the youngsters from the academy to the course. WE are also having a Season Launch event for the Juniors on Junior Captains Day on Monday, 14 April. There will be some announcements concerning the Junior Academy on this day so watch this space. With the weather starting to turn the playing season is looking not that far away. This week I have had Trevor o’neill trying the new PING Karsten irons and here are his observations: “The club I tried was a Ping Blue Spot Karsten 7 Iron with a regular steel shaft. This compares with the club I am using at the moment which is a Ping G25 Black Spot with a regular steel shaft. I felt the Karsten was better balanced and sat on the ground slightly more comfortably than my G25. When I tried the 2 clubs sequentially the Karsten went about 5 to 10 yards further and was just as accurate. The flight path was the same and the 2 clubs were quite similar. If I were in the market to change or upgrade my clubs I would pick the Karsten over and above the G25 for a golfer of my ability (Handicap 17)."
Finally with the Masters only a couple of weeks away we now have our sweepstake up and running so make sure you get your ticket to add even more interest.
