Greetings from Mark Allen
Eaton Golf Club - PGA Golf Professional

I have had a busy week on the fitting front both conducting them at the Club and arranging trips to both PING and Titleist. One of our members waiting for his new weapons after a fit is Tony Page. Tony had a fitting to look at irons and we decided that he should go for PING G30 irons.

We found that lighter graphite shafts suited him better and that he needed more upright lie angles and actually less irons in his bag. If you would like to book a fitting please do not hesitate to contact one of the pro shop team so that you can get your clubs right for the new season.

Get your Game assessed

I have been conducting quite a few game assessments over the last couple of weeks helping members with the best Lesson plans for their games. This is where I sit down over a cup of coffee with you and run through a series of questions and get you to measure your own game. Once I have done this I will also conduct a swing check.

After going through this process I will then propose a lesson plan that will suit your game as well as assessing whether your equipment is giving you the best opportunity to optimise your game. Looking at these factors as well as your practice habits and mental game is key in getting the most out of your golf both in terms of performance and of course enjoyment.

Throughout February I am offering these assessments free, so if you would like to make 2015 your best ever golfing year please contact one of the Pro Shop team to make an appointment or click here.

Ladies 'on course' Coaching

Michael and I conducted an on course coaching session for ladies before Christmas which was very well attended.

The subject for the day was dealing with winter conditions although we also covered course management and sloping lies.

Unfortunately the weather beat us last week for our scheduled session but we will be announcing a new date very soon. Upcoming dates are; Thursdays, 29 January & 12 February 11.30am-12.30pm.

Winter Short Game challenge up and running!

The Short Game Challenge is proving to be just that! We have had lots of interest with several members signing up to have unlimited go's through the winter.

Top of the leaderboard is Finlay Heywood with 61 points which is an excellent score and could take some beating.

The challenge is also causing competition within the Pro Shop with all of us having had a go. Come and have a go and try to win a brand new wedge!

Sign up on the sheet in the Proshop

Our January Sale is now in full swing with some superb savings to be made.

For the last few days of January we now have 50% off all non crested clothing.

Be Quick and pop in to the shop and grab yourself a Bargain.

New store Layout

In preparation for all the new products coming in store over the next couple of months we have had a change of layout.

We are also putting in some more slatwall fittings to give us more display options. Pop in to the shop and let us know what you think of the new design

Winter MOT

Why not have an equipment check before the new season to make sure your clubs are the best for your game. Book an appointment with one of the Pro Shop team by clicking here and have grips, shafts, loft and lies and set composite analysed. We are running these equipment check sessions free   throughout January and February to make sure you clubs are actually helping you.

Price Match Policy, Non Stocked Products and Annual Product Survey

As I have stated recently please remember that we can source product we do not stock and will always endeavour to price match where we can. Your business is very important to us and we appreciate every opportunity to secure it.

I would also like to make you aware that as part of Foremost Golf, the UK's largest golf retail group, we can source products through our central warehousing even if we don't stock the product on the shop floor. Click here to have a look at the online store.

EBAY Shop

We now have an EBAY shop. If you have any old clubs post 2000 this is the time to sell them. All you need to do is drop them into the shop, we will assess them, put them straight onto our site at a sensible selling price and if they sell the money goes on your golf shop account.

You will be surprised just how quick we can turn your old clubs into ££££'s. Only this week I have managed to liquidate some clubs for a couple of our members so that they can look at new equipment.
