Head Measurement Technology is here!

I have now introduced Head Measurement Technology (HMT) in to our swing room, which really puts us at the forefront of technology. Our GC2 Launch Monitor captured all the ball data where as HMT captures all the club data like accurate clubhead speed, swing path, angle of attack and clubface angles as well as lie and strike. All of this information is so important when teaching and fitting.

Titleist Fitting Day

I have managed to secure a Titleist Fitting Day for Monday, 10 December from 1.00-5.00pm.

This will be a great opportunity to try out the new TS range of metals as well as their fantastic array of other products

The afternoon will be conducted in the swing room, with each appointment lasting 40 minutes.

Christmas Junior Camp,

My new PGA teaching professional, Chase Davis, starts with us on Monday, 3 December and is thoroughly looking forward to it.

One of his first events will be a Christmas Junior Camp on Thursday, 20 December.

Winter coaching packages now available

Tom and I have just launched our Coaching package for this Winter which provides the perfect way to work on your game and make necessary improvements.

It is a great time at the moment to sit down and assess how your game has been this season and to think about how it can be improved. Tom and I can help you do this and set out an action plan for improvement.

Our Winter package consists of 6 lessons to be taken before the end of March 2019, ideally one per month and includes 3 FREE practice sessions in our Swing room with the instant feedback of our GC2 Launch Monitor technology.

Short game intensive

If you were not able to attend our free coaching sessions this summer, why not join forces with your playing partners and do one of our short game intensive coaching sessions.

This is where we will look at your chipping, pitching and bunker play and again show you the Dave Pelz short Game Handicap practice routine.

The session last 90 minutes and we can take up to 5 people with the cost of the session being £75 or £15pp.

Tour news

Big Phil takes the bragging rights

The long-awaited match between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson took place last week and, with a combined 19 Majors between them, sparks were expected to fly. Las Vegas was an apt setting for the winner-takes-all event, and there was drama right up to the very last, as Big Phil came away with the $9m prize on the fourth extra hole after Woods had forced a play-off when he chipped in on the 17th.

Whilst the quality of golf wasn't quite up to what we expected, it was certainly a unique way of playing the game and could even be done again in the future - get in touch and let us know your thoughts!

Elsewhere, the European Tour got underway at the Hong Kong Open, with Englishman Aaron Rai fending off a strong challenge from compatriot Matthew Fitzpatrick to win his first title on the tour. Fitzpatrick was within touching distance, but a bogey on the 17th allowed Rai to take the victory on -17, with Fitzpatrick one shot further back.

The Belgian pair of Thomas Pieters and Thomas Detry secured the World Cup of Golf event down under in Australia over the weekend. The Belgian bombers finished three shots ahead of the home favourites Marc Leishman and Cameron Smith, and sealed victory for the first time for their nation.

Style for all occasions

In the past, golf clothing has had the reputation of being “for the golf course” with a call to the fashion police needed if you were to wear it anywhere else. Divide and conquer

Sometimes in golf, it's the little things which really grind your gears. Take golf bags, for example - the game can be difficult enough when you're not playing your best, but it becomes downright frustrating when you go to take one club out of the bag and the whole set decides to come out with it. It goes both ways, with sometimes just trying to slot a single club back in proving difficult and time-consuming.
