You have nothing to fear

Recently, you may have seen a few requests in our weekly emails asking you to create your golfing profile or confirm your email address for GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) purposes.

As you might be aware, GDPR is new legislation coming into effect at the end of May, so we are taking the opportunity now to update your details. Not only does this give us the chance to confirm that we have your correct information, but it also provides us with the ability to personalise your weekly emails to suit your golfing preferences. If you have not yet updated your details, please do so now. It will take you less than a minute.

The Masters 2018

Patrick claims first major

What a fantastic tournament the Masters turned out to be last weekend with Patrick Reed playing fantastically to claim his first major.

He may not have been the winner a lot of us would have liked but he has to be admired for the way he closed out the event. It would have been great to see Rory create history but he suffered one of those days on the course where he could get nothing going, we have all been there.

The sub plots of Jordan Spieth's great round and another close shave for Rickie Fowler were compelling.

Confession from your Professional

On the subject of the Masters sweepstake I thought I had done a great job of allocating players to members on Tuesday and thought no more of it.

This was until Colin Campbell enquired on Sunday morning who had drawn Patrick Reed, we both trawled through the list but discovered I had missed him out!! I decided to put everybody who entered back in the pot to give them a second chance for their £2, the lucky winner was George Morris with ticket no:22. The winners were as follows:

Fitting news

Manufacturer Fitting Days

The latest addition to our Fitting Day schedule this year is a Short game day with Titleist which will be a great opportunity to try the latest Scotty Cameron putters and Vokey SM7 wedges.

The date for this event is Tuesday, 15 May between 2-6pm.

To back up our own launch days I have now secured four fitting days with different manufacturers where you can be fitted for new equipment, Callaway, Mizuno and Lynx will be coming to Eaton Golf Club over the next few weeks with full ranges of equipment and Launch monitor technology.

These are great opportunities to be fitted for the latest clubs with a phenomenal range of shaft options to get the best fit for your game. The dates of these events are below and are bookable through the Pro Shop:

Wednesday, 18 April - Lynx Fitting Day

Wednesday, 25 April - Mizuno Fitting Day
