Lesson pupils enjoy success
Two of the pro shop's lesson pupils had a very successful week last week in the two club competitions. On Wednesday, Trevor O'Neill won the Midweek Stableford with a super 44 points and had a nice handicap cut for his efforts. Trevor had attended one of our Summer Coaching Days the previous week with Michael and said some of the advice received made a real difference.
On Thursday in the Senior's Club Championship I was delighted to see one of my lesson pupils, Chris Lockhart shoot a nett 66 to take the handicap prize. Chris and I had worked hard on his swing through the winter and spring so it was great for him to get some reward. Congratulations should also go to Paul Pritty who won the Scratch Prize with a fine Gross 76.
Are you the best putter in the club?
We are looking to find the best putter in the club and will be running a Putting Competition in conjunction with the Dr. E.I. Watson Trophy on Saturday, 15 July. Make sure you get involved and we will see who comes out top and gets to take home the grand prize.

Summer coaching days - Places filling up fast
Our summer coaching continues to be a great success. Don't forget we have three more days scheduled throughout the summer and they are a great way of having an intensive look at all aspects of your game at a bargain price of £80 per day .

Paul, Andy and Matt raising money
Three of my lesson pupils are undertaking big challenges to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support this month.
Paul Andrew is cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats over the next couple of weeks and started at the weekend with some stunning but particularly difficult sections in Cornwall.
Closer to home Father and son, Andy and Matt Hood are taking on the 100 holes in a day challenge this coming Thursday at the Club. They are starting a 4.15am in the morning and will probably finish some time before 9pm.
Both of these challenges are fantastic efforts by the boys and are for a fantastic cause so please support them with some sponsorship, contact the Pro Shop for details of how you can do this.
